This Privacy Policy explains how Magency ("Magency," "we," "us," and "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use our mobile applications, websites, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

Magency is a creator community and live engagement platform where creators can go live (video or audio), build communities, and earn income through monetization features such as subscriptions, in-app coins/credits, virtual gifts, tips, and paid access.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

  • Creators and fans interacting through live streams, chat rooms, and communities

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services that may be linked from Magency (for example app stores, payment providers, or external websites). Their privacy policies govern their processing.

3. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: (a) you provide it, (b) we collect it automatically, and (c) we receive it from third parties.

3.1 Information you provide to us

Account and profile information

  • Username/handle, email address, password (stored in a protected form), profile photo, bio, and other profile details you choose to add
  • Age confirmation and date of birth, where needed to enforce our 18+ requirement

Community and creator information

Community details, room/event information, creator settings, subscription offerings, and pricing configuration.

User content

  • Live streams (video and audio), recordings if enabled, posts, comments, chat messages, images, and other content you submit through the Services ("User Content")
  • Reports and feedback you submit, including information about content or users you report

Transactions and monetization

  • In-app coin/credit activity, gifts and tips, subscriptions, paid access purchases, and related transaction history
  • We do not require you to provide full payment card details to Magency if transactions are processed by app stores or payment providers, but we may receive confirmation and status information to deliver entitlements and prevent fraud

Information you provide when you contact us (for example emails and support requests).

3.2 Information we collect automatically

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect:

  • Device information: device model, operating system, app version, language, time zone, mobile network
  • Identifiers: device identifiers used for security and fraud prevention and to keep the Services working reliably
  • Usage information: screens viewed, features used, session duration, interactions (for example taps), and crash/performance diagnostics
  • Log information: IP address, access times, error logs, and diagnostic data
  • Approximate location: inferred from IP address (we do not require precise GPS location for core functionality)

3.3 Information we receive from third parties

We may receive information from:

  • App stores (Apple App Store and Google Play), such as subscription status, purchase confirmations, and basic transaction metadata needed to provide entitlements and handle disputes
  • Payment or fraud prevention partners (if used) for transaction confirmation and risk signals
  • Other users (for example if they report you or reference your content)

4. How we use information

We use information to operate Magency, deliver features, keep users safe, and improve reliability, including to:

4.1 Provide and operate the Services

  • Create and manage accounts
  • Enable live streaming, communities, chat rooms, and creator tools
  • Deliver paid features, subscriptions, and access entitlements
  • Provide customer support and respond to requests

4.2 Safety, integrity, and moderation

Because Magency includes live streaming and community interaction, we may use information to:

  • Enforce our Terms, Community Guidelines, and safety rules
  • Detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to abuse, harassment, fraud, scams, impersonation, and illegal activity
  • Review reported content and take action, which may include removing content, restricting features, or suspending accounts
  • Protect users, the public, and the Services, and comply with lawful requests

This may require reviewing User Content and related metadata when necessary for safety, moderation, or enforcement.

4.3 Communications

  • Send service messages (for example security alerts, confirmations, policy updates, and operational notices)
  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests

4.4 Improvement and reliability

  • Monitor performance, diagnose issues, and fix bugs
  • Test and improve features and user experience
  • Prevent crashes and maintain security

5. Legal bases (UK/EEA users)

Where applicable law requires a legal basis (for example UK GDPR), we process personal data under one or more of the following:

  • Your live streams, chat messages, comments, and other User Content may be visible to viewers or community members
  • Some interactions (for example gifts sent to creators) may be visible as part of live engagement features

6.2 With service providers

We share information with trusted vendors that help us operate Magency, such as:

  • Cloud hosting, storage, and content delivery
  • Live streaming and real-time communications infrastructure
  • Customer support tooling
  • Security, fraud prevention, and moderation support

These providers are permitted to use personal data only to perform services for us, under contractual protections.

6.3 For legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with law, regulation, legal process, or lawful government requests
  • Protect the rights, safety, and property of Magency, our users, or others
  • Investigate and enforce violations of our Terms and policies

6.4 Business transfers

If Magency is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

7. Payments, coins/credits, subscriptions, gifts, and tips

Magency includes monetization tools such as subscriptions, in-app coins/credits, gifts, tips, and paid access.

  • Purchases may be processed by app stores or third-party payment providers depending on the platform and feature
  • We may receive purchase confirmations and subscription status information to grant entitlements, prevent fraud, and provide support
  • We maintain records of transactions and entitlements for accounting, dispute resolution, and compliance purposes
  • Refunds for in-app purchases may be governed by the applicable app store's policies

8. International data transfers

Magency may operate globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, depending on where our servers and service providers are located. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect international transfers.

9. Data retention

We retain information for as long as needed to:

  • Provide the Services
  • Maintain safety and platform integrity
  • Meet legal, accounting, and compliance obligations
  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements

Retention periods vary depending on the type of data and our purpose for using it. For example, transaction records may be retained longer to meet legal and financial requirements.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing.

Account updates

You can update certain profile details within the app.

Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account directly from the Magency app by following these steps:

  1. Open the Magency app and go to your Profile.
  2. Tap Delete Account.
  3. If you do not see it immediately, you can also open Settings and go to Sign-in & Security, then scroll to the Danger zone section.
  4. Type DELETE in the confirmation field to confirm.
  5. If your account uses email and password, enter your current password. For Google or Apple sign-in accounts, you can leave the password field blank.
  6. Tap Delete My Account to permanently remove your account.

Deleting your account removes your profile, sign-in methods, active sessions, and all associated data. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. If you prefer, you can also request account deletion by emailing contact@magency.co.uk.

If we must retain certain information for legal or safety reasons (for example transaction records or enforcement logs), we will retain only what is required and protect it appropriately.

Communications

You can choose not to receive promotional messages where applicable. We may still send essential service communications related to security, transactions, and account operation.

11. Cookies (website)

If we operate a website for Magency, it may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for the site to function and to measure basic performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you block certain cookies, parts of the site may not function properly.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Adults only (18+)

Magency is intended for adults only. You must be 18 years or older to use the Services. If we learn that we have collected personal data from someone under 18, we may take steps to delete the information and terminate the account.

14. Third-party links

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies before providing information to them.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
